A personal highlight of the year has been our Autumn Amble. Normally, this is a one-day event touring on roads local to our workshop, but this year we took the Amble on tour to Rutland, thanks to the generous offer of the Duke of Rutland to visit his home, the magnificent Belvoir Castle.
With a line-up of fabulous cars ranging from the Duke’s 1908 Renault (which was purchased new by the Duke’s Grandfather and has resided at the Castle ever since) to a stunning Rolls-Royce Phantom III, we enjoyed the good company and the many laughs along the way. Challenging roads and good pubs seemed to be a theme of this year’s event, with the route meandering through the beautiful countryside of England’s smallest county. We were treated to a personal tour of the spectacular castle.
We are always grateful to everyone who joins us for the Autumn Amble with some making great efforts to travel across Europe to participate.
