Chassis Number 315LF is a matching number Springfield built car. The coachwork is original, highly attractive, and was produced by the well-known coachbuilder G.W. McNear of Boston, Massachusetts. McNear only produced a total of 10 Coupe bodies fitted to Silver Ghosts, of which 3 survive and this is the only Doctor’s Coupe.
In 1925, 315LF was returned to the Springfield factory for upgrades, which included conversion from right to left hand drive. The 4 speed gearbox was retained and a centre gear lever conversion was made, a modification which was only carried out to a total of 12 chassis. The car is also believed to have been previously owned by Clark Gable.
315LF has been subject to a recent and highly detailed restoration; she is in lovely order and remains highly original. She is finished in her original 2-tone green colour scheme with lovely light grey Bedford cord upholstery and mahogany interior woodwork. This car has an extensive and well documented history.
This car has a lot of luggage space and the opening front windscreen keeps the interior nice and cool, but there is also an option to have a folding roof fitted free of charge, if desired.
We are of the view that 315LF would be an excellent touring car, well suited to continental and transatlantic events.
